Does the Proficenter 650 G have a geared headstock (G) – how does it differ from Vario versions?
The geared headstock (Getriebe) delivers higher torque at low speeds compared to belt or electronic variable speed drives – essential for turning high-strength steels, large sections, and heavy roughing cuts. Speed changes are made from a standstill by turning an external lever without disassembling belts. Compared to the Vario, it is less convenient for frequent speed changes but more robust for continuous heavy use.
Does the integrated milling machine have the same travel as a dedicated milling machine?
No – the axis travel of the integrated milling machine in the Proficenter 650 G is more limited compared to a dedicated BF or FM milling machine.
